Nine Maoist rebels killed in AP

Nine Maoist rebels have been killed in an encounter in the forest region spread over Prakasam and Kadappa districts of Andhra Pradesh.

Police have said that one of the rebels was in line to take over as the Maoist state secretary.

A haul of weapons including AK-47 rifle were seized. The encounter is still on.
