Army steps up operations across J&K

As Diwali was being celebrated across the country, in militancy torn Jammu and Kashmir security forces have stepped up operations across the state.

Seven terrorists and one jawan have been killed in three separate encounters.

The encounters took place in Rampur near Baramullah, near the LoC in Gurez and in the Ghandoh area of Doda.

Army has recovered six AK 47s from Baramullah and Doda district.

The identity of the militants has not been established yet.

An alert had been sounded on Diwali following which more patrols were put in place. These operations resulted in the strike against the militants.
