Blast targets Iraq newspaper office

Sunday, August 27, 2006 (Baghdad):A car bomb exploded in the parking lot of a government-run newspaper in Baghdad on Sunday, killing at least one person and injuring 30.

At least 25 cars caught fire in the blast in the parking lot of the al-Sabah newspaper located in a Sunni-dominated neighbourhood in northern Baghdad.

The newspaper building was also badly damaged, police said.

Al-Sabah or 'The Morning' newspaper is part of the government-run Iraqi Media Net group, which includes Iraqiya Television channel.

No other details were immediately available.

Iraqi government forces and facilities have been frequently targeted by Sunni Arab insurgents since the fall of Saddam Hussein in 2003
