New Delhi:High priced and high class, cocaine is no ordinary party drug. It is usually been the preserve of the rich and famous.

Yet, after the seizure of the white powder from a bar in Delhi last year, authorities are worried.

It is getting as easy to procure as other recreational drugs like hashish and ecstasy.

In fact, those who are regular fixtures at raves and plush parties, point out that pushing the limits is very much in vogue.

"I started doing in college just to explore what it was about and then got hooked," said a former user.

"Yet, I did my homework and read up about the dangers of drug abuse, so when friends took they knew what to do. It is easy now, a few hundred for the pills and a few thousand for one snort of coke," he said.

Celebrities nailed

For quite some time now cocaine has become the cross on which celebrities have been nailed.

In 2001, actor Fardeen Khan was nabbed in Mumbai with ten grams of cocaine on him.

Just a few months later, Afghan coke peddler Naquibullah - better known as Ali - was caught selling two grams of cocaine to hotel owner Neeraj Vadera in Delhi.
